Chris is an actor. He lives in Hollywood and is always around people. Today is no different. A man came up to him and congratulated him for winning Male Actor of the Year at the Cannes Film Festival. Chris listened as the man spoke about how creative Chris’ acting was. He smiled at the man and said “Thanks, I did my best”. He walked through the crowded party, through the entrance, and got into his car. Once he arrived at his house, his smile disappeared. He went to sleep feeling alone.

クリスは役者。ハリウッドに住んでいて、常に周りには人がいる。今日も変わらず人に 囲まれている。カンヌ映画祭で、人混みの中から見知らぬ男が俳優賞の受賞に関してお めでとうと伝えに来た。男がクリスの独創的な役作りをほめるところをクリスは静かに 聞いて、「ありがとう。全力を尽くしたさ。」といい彼ににっこりと笑顔を見せる。そ の少しあと、クリスは混雑したパーティを通り、入口へ向かい車に乗って帰る。家に着 くと彼の笑みは消える。彼は孤独さを感じ夢を見る。
